What happens when elements from digital games are added to urban sports? With dynamic projections and the detection of people and objects PLUS Playful Layer Urban Sports transforms urban sports into an interactive mixed reality. PLUS aims to be mobile. This way mixed reality can be set up everywhere easily and does not have high installation costs. PLUS allows users to add any element to their game at different urban locations.
Involved in PLUS are the Urban Sports Performance Centre and Fontys Hogeschool ICT. The project is set to be completed in January 2021. PLUS is the follow up of Ramped. Ramped was a concept that started in 2015. Back then there were no technologies promising enough to use for mixed reality. Nowadays the sports industry is more professional and the technology is advanced enough to support urban sports.
